On Sunday November 17th, 2019, the Supervisory Council of the United Mashadi Jewish Community of America will hold elections for the 15 member Central Board of Directors of the UMJCA as well as the 7 member Synagogue Boards of Shaare Shalom, Ohr Esther and Shaare Rachamim Synagogues. All nominees for the Central Board must be at least 36 years of age, and candidates for Synagogues must be over 26 years of age. Nominations are open to eligible candidates.

The Supervisory Council has called a General Assembly/Town Hall Meeting for this coming Tuesday November 12th at 7:30 PM at Shaare Shalom. We encourage you to attend for the opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have regarding these two Referendums. The Town Hall Meeting will be followed by the “Meet the Central Board Candidates” at 8:o0 PM.

Two Referendums on the ballot:

Referendum No. 1 will be to approve the new By-Laws of the Shaare Rachamim Synagogue, which will also include a related amendment to the UMJCA community By-Laws. Click Here to View the Propose By-Laws

MBC Fair & FREE Flu Shots Sunday November 17th 11-3

Introducing the launch of the Mashadi Bikkur Cholim, a network of volunteer Mashadi organizations and other affiliated organizations working together to help community members and their families in critical times of need. MBC is launching with 8 divisions, including Medical Referrals, Bikkur Cholim (visiting the sick), Social Services, Senior Services, Cancer Support, Fertility Network, Individuals with Special Needs & Mental Health Services. Each division has Mashadi representatives that will privately and confidentially guide you or a loved one through your time of need. On Sunday November 17th, 2019, from 11 am – 3 pm, during the community election day, the Mashadi Bikkur Cholim will be holding a health services fair at the Shaare Shalom Social Hall that will include tables for each of the above services, as well for the Sid Jacobson and the Sam Field representatives. Dr. Ariel Nassim will also be giving free flu shots from 11 am – 1 pm on the same day. We invite everyone who is either interested to volunteer for one of our divisions, or who is interested to learn more about our free services to visit us on November 17th. The Siyum Hashas is the celebration of the completion of the “Daf Yomi” program, a daily page of gemara study lasting 7 1/2 years. The upcoming 13th cycle will be concluded on January 1, 2020 and will be celebrated at Metlife Stadium. UMJCA Foundation for Support for IDF Soldiers

To strengthen our bond to Israel and further connect the Mashadi communities throughout the world, we will be running a fundraiser for the 3rd year to honor active Mashadi soldiers who presently are serving in the IDF. Each soldier will receive a symbolic gift of 1000 NIS along with a letter of
recognition/appreciation, during a ceremony that will be held on December 28, 2019 in Hertzliya, Israel. This year’s program is in honor and memory of late Parviz and Hekmat Roubeni for their generous help to many Mashadi and Zionistic causes. This soldier honoring ceremony is organized by Vaad Merkazi.
